Hello! My name is Wim, and this is my son Logan. Together, we’re the creators of the Figgy Pudding Baking Kit.

Our story began in 2019, on a cozy evening by the fire, with Christmas music playing in the background. As I listened to “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” I found myself wondering—what exactly is “figgy pudding” that they’re singing about? Curiosity got the best of me, so I did a little digging and discovered it’s a traditional English dessert made with figs and dates.

I was surprised to learn it’s actually more like a cake than what we think of as pudding here in the U.S. (In the UK, many desserts are called “puddings.”) Right away, I thought—this would be so fun to try making with my family. And that’s exactly what we did.

It turned out to be such a special experience. Here we were, making something none of us had ever tasted before, yet somehow already knew through a beloved Christmas song. And when we finally tried it… we were amazed. It was warm, rich, sticky, and absolutely delicious.

Logan—who was 13 at the time—turned to me and said, “Dad, I want this every year at Christmas.” And just like that, a new family tradition was born. For the past six years, figgy pudding has been part of our holiday celebrations, and it never disappoints.

Over time, I started asking others if they had ever tried figgy pudding—and was surprised by how many people hadn’t. That’s when the idea clicked. I wanted to share this experience with as many families as possible.

That’s how the Figgy Pudding Baking Kit came to life. My goal was to make this not just a dessert, but a fun, memorable experience you can create and enjoy together. The kit is designed to be simple, approachable, and shelf-stable—so anyone can bring a little extra warmth and tradition into their holiday season.
